Is it not your form that one sees in the melodic sound of a bustling little bee seated on flower in a pond, in the rustle of a cool breeze at dawn, in the voice of a baby crawling in it's mother’s lap, in all forms of the arts and texts?

You are the bright light in all the scriptures and musical practices, in debates, in the orders of a benevolent king, in outstanding melodies, and in the magical sound of anklets. You are the quintessence of all scriptures. Please hurry and make me an accomplished individual.

Pallavi addresses Saraswathi as Sivakameswaran's sister. The poet took the liberty of addressing the Goddess based on the following:
According to the Saraswati Ashtottara Shata Namavali(108 names of Saraswati) found here, one name of the Goddess is Shivanuja(9th name in the list) which means "One who is the younger sibling of Shiva"

Let us sing the glory of the Goddess who will offer immortal arts, knowledge that cannot be destroyed even by a raging fire, Tamil music that is as sweet as syrup, and permanent wealth and repute. She will dissuade you from an unacceptable path and will put you on right track.

You protected the devotee Vasishta from the anger of the great sage, Viswamitra, and you ran in this world as the pure and clear Saraswathi river. I sing your glory and worship your lotus feet in order for you, Mother, to destroy the artificial fortress of ego and offer me the knowledge that you carry in your hand, so you can dwell in my heart forever.
Author’s Note
Reference is made in the charanam of this song to frequent quarrels between the sages Vasishta and Vishwamitra. Once, the angry Vishwamitra ordered Goddess Saraswathi to bring Vasishta to him on the other side of the river bank with an evil intention to kill him. She carried Vasishta to him but still gets cursed by the angry sage. Due to this curse, she ran as the bloody and tainted river Aruna for a while. Contemptuous of the deaths in the Kurukshetra war between relatives, teachers, and students, and the trends due to the inhabitation of rakshasas on the river bank and disillusioned by the changing cultures, it is believed that Saraswati disappeared from earth around Mahabharata time. This episode of the conflict between the two rishis is vividly laid out in Balarama Theertha Yatra Parva of Mahabharata. The poet has also used this story in a Navarasa piece on Goddess Saraswathi.
